The social network Instagram (owned by Meta, which is recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation) is testing a new news feed, which will consist only of publications from verified users. About this in interview Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri told The Verge.

Verification is provided to those who pay for the Meta Verified subscription, which costs $11.99 per month for the web version and $14.99 for the application version. A subscription provides a check mark to confirm that the user is real, and also provides faster support from Meta and improved privacy.

Meta launched a new subscription in February 2023, three months after the social network X announced a similar innovation. Subsequently, business accounts will also be able to receive the Meta Verified checkbox. According to Mr. Mosseri, the company wants to find out how much the new tape will interest users, after which they will make a final decision on its implementation.
