Instagram has an analogue of Telegram channels

Meta (recognized as extremist and banned in Russia) chairman Mark Zuckerberg announced the appearance on Instagram (owned by Meta) of channels similar to the key function of the Telegram messenger. Instagram channels are called Meta Channel.
“I am launching this channel to share news and updates on all the products and technologies we create,” Mr. Zuckerberg said in a video message on his Instagram account.
As Kommersant was convinced, in order to view or subscribe to the platform user’s channel, you need to be a subscriber. The design of the function is similar to the Direct messenger built into Instagram.
In March 2022, Instagram was blocked in Russia. The Russian authorities justified the termination of access to the platform by temporarily removing Meta’s ban on posting publications calling for violence against the Russian military.
