Instagram executives move to London

The head of Instagram (owned by Meta, recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation) Adam Mosseri will move from California to London, informs Financial Times, citing sources. Following him, all management of the social network will be transferred there.
According to the publication, Mosseri will move this year, but most likely temporarily. The company’s new headquarters will employ additional staff and will be located in the King’s Cross area. Now the focus of Instagram is expanding the staff of employees involved in the company’s products. In addition, one of the arguments in favor of moving may be savings, the FT notes. According to the publication, engineers in the UK are three times cheaper than in San Francisco. Also, the country has recently introduced tax incentives for the technology sector, which is beneficial for Instagram.
March 21 Tverskoy Court of Moscow acknowledged American company Meta as an extremist organization and banned its activities in Russia. The reason for this was the “posting, distribution and failure to take measures to block materials” with calls for violence that concerned the Russian military. The use of Facebook social networks (owned by Meta, recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation) and Instagram in Russia cannot be recognized as extremism, so no punishment will follow for their use.
