The incidence rate of influenza and SARS over the past week has decreased by 52% compared to the previous one. This was announced during a conference call meetings with the heads of territorial bodies and institutions of Rospotrebnadzor. According to the agency, a total of 580 thousand people fell ill.
The head of Rospotrebnadzor, Anna Popova, stressed that the situation with the incidence “remains difficult.” She instructed the regions to continue epidemiological activities. According to her, citizens’ appeals to medical institutions may increase due to the end of the holidays.
The department called the situation with COVID-19 stable. According to the results of the first week of 2023, about 22 thousand cases of the disease were registered in Russia. This is 40% less than last week.
In November 2022, Rospotrebnadzor announced the start of the influenza and COVID-19 epidemic season. Due to the increase in cases of the disease in some regions of Russia, it was recommended to wear masks in public places. During the last week of December, 1.8 million people fell ill with the flu. By January 3, the incidence had decreased by 29.3%.
