The peak of the incidence of coronavirus in Moscow may occur at the beginning of the school year, says infectious disease doctor Nikolai Malyshev.
He noted that at present there will be an increase in the incidence of COVID-19 and the peak will be observed at the beginning of the school year, at the end of the holidays, when people go to work.
Over the past 24 hours, 5973 cases of coronavirus infection have been detected in Moscow, 10 people have died. The last time such a sharp increase in the incidence was observed in February 2022.
Earlier, Anatoly Altshtein, chief researcher at the Gamaleya Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology, said that during the current rise in the incidence of coronavirus in Russia, it is unlikely that more than 200,000 new cases per day will be recorded, as was the case last winter. The specialist clarified that, most likely, there will be about 45-50 thousand new infected at the peak.
