Previously, a similar decision on the indefinite extension of the increased level of terrorist threat accepted in another border region – the Bryansk region. Prior to this, the regime was extended every 15 days in the regions. At the beginning of the year, President Vladimir Putin signed a decree abolishing time limits on the introduction of terrorist threat levels in border regions.
In the Kursk region, an increased level of terrorist threat has been in effect since April last year. On the border with Ukraine in the region being built defensive line, and the authorities report shelling almost daily. The Kursk region is also reinforced with troops.
