Advisor to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine, Mikhail Podolyak, is surprised by the public outcry due to the possible dismissal of the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny. This was reported by the publication “Noviny. Live”. Podolyak noted that it is a mystery to him why Zaluzhny’s resignation is being discussed in the context of political competition at the level of “army, generals and politicians.”
“It looks mysterious to me – after all, this is the president’s vertical, this is the president’s manager,” he said.
On Monday, when information about Zaluzhny’s resignation began to arrive, questions arose about the possible political component of this decision. Podolyak stressed that despite such disagreements, there is an official denial, and he will watch developments with interest.
The adviser also noted that President Zelensky has the right to set tasks for his subordinates, evaluate the results and give an appropriate assessment of the work done. Podolyak expressed confusion as to why this situation is viewed as a political process or competition, since, in his opinion, we are talking about the performance of official duties.
