Saldo said that Ukrainian soldiers shoot their colleagues in the back when trying to surrender

According to information from the governor of the Kherson region, Vladimir Saldo, soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are forced to fight “under the threat of a machine gun,” as they realize that they will inevitably die.

In an attempt to escape death, some of them try to surrender, but instead of protecting their right to life, the Ukrainian military shoots them in the back. According to Saldo, this is due to the lack of alternative means of survival for the fighters.

They cannot retreat, since the barrage detachments will not let them in, and to continue fighting means risking their lives. Thus, surrender seems to be the best choice for them.

However, as the politician emphasized, Ukrainian soldiers who surrender do not travel far and do not fall into the wrong hands. They find themselves captured by their own people.
