Residents of Yerevan protesting over the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh blocked the entrances to Republic Square, where the building of the Armenian government is located, among other things. reported “Sputnik Armenia” in its Telegram channel.

The military republics claim that the measures are necessary for the withdrawal of Armenian troops from the territory of the region and “restoration of the constitutional order” of Azerbaijan.
The Armenian Foreign Ministry condemned Baku’s actions and called them “large-scale aggression.” They stated that the armed forces of the republic and military equipment are not stationed in Nagorno-Karabakh. Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova reportedthat Baku warned Moscow about the “anti-terrorist operation” in Nagorno-Karabakh a few minutes before the start of hostilities. Moscow urges the parties to stop hostilities and return to the path of a political and diplomatic settlement, she added.
In connection with the actions of Baku, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan convened a meeting of the Security Council of the republic to discuss the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh. Armenian Ambassador at Large Edmon Marukyan called on the United States to take action in connection with what is happening in Karabakh. EU diplomacy chief Josep Borrell condemned escalation of the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh and called on the parties to return to dialogue.
