The leader of the opposition bloc “Mother Armenia” Andranik Tevanyan announced a new protest action in Yerevan on Republic Square near the government building in support of Nagorno-Karabakh. Participants will demand the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
“… we have decided to hold a large rally on Republic Square at 19:00 (18:00 Moscow time),” he said and added that Pashinyan had renounced Karabakh. In his assessment, the current situation was a consequence of the prime minister’s policies.
On September 19, Tevanyan spoke about the authorities’ plans to recount the votes in the elections to the Council of Elders of Yerevan and called on residents, in particular those who did not vote, to be prepared to hold protests.
