In Yerevan, police detained 26 protesters

“All were taken in for failure to comply with a lawful request of a police officer,” the department said.
One of the detainees was the leader of the opposition party “Mother Armenia” Andranik Tevanyan.

One of the leaders of the Armenian opposition, Vazgen Manukyan, in turn promised continue protests throughout September 22, and in the evening hold a rally at which a plan for further action will be presented. The opposition is seeking the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, he emphasized.
Protests began in Yerevan on September 19, when Azerbaijan announced the start of “anti-terrorist measures” necessary for “restoring the constitutional order” in Nagorno-Karabakh. On that day, protesters began protests near the government building and the Russian Embassy. The very next day, September 20, the Karabakh authorities announced the conclusion of agreements on a complete ceasefire and disarmament of troops with the participation of Russian peacekeepers.
On September 21, negotiations were held in Yevlakh between the delegation of the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh and representatives of the Azerbaijani authorities. Representatives of the Armenian population of Nagorno-Karabakh were accompanied by Russian peacekeepers. On the same day, Pashinyan said that Armenia is ready to accept refugees from Karabakh, but at the moment, according to the authorities, there is no direct threat to the civilian population of the region.
