Teachers quit en masse from school No. 22 in Yekaterinburg, in the Uralmash region. According to the publication 66.ru, 20 teachers left the school in the summer. According to one of the parents, this is due to the bad attitude of the new director Ilya Smirnov towards teachers. The Department of Education of Yekaterinburg said that several teachers left the school, four of them retired, and six resigned of their own free will.
By words parents, this academic year some classes of the school have not yet taught a single lesson in Russian language and biology – instead, students are supposedly shown cartoons. According to the publication, the parents have already contacted the district prosecutor’s office and Rosobrnadzor.
“They quit en masse when the new director arrived. He is disrespectful and insulting. And the teachers are ready to return if he is not there. Now my daughter is in ninth grade; children don’t have biology at all. Parents make an appointment with the director, only to be told that he is not there. Although this is not true. He simply says: “I don’t want to talk to them,” Irina Kazantseva, a resident of Yekaterinburg, told the publication.
Due to the shortage of teachers, on September 15, parents went to a rally at the school, and, as Kommersant-Ural was told by the department of information policy of the Sverdlovsk region, today the director of the education department of Yekaterinburg, Konstantin Shevchenko, met with the students’ parents. “He informed parents that the remaining workload will be temporarily redistributed among other teachers, and all measures are being taken to find new teachers,” said the regional information policy department.
It is noted that the situation was taken under control by the Minister of Education and Youth Policy of the Sverdlovsk Region, Yuri Biktuganov.
Partially to school No. 22 this year transferred students from school No. 68, where the ceiling collapsed before the start of the school year. The general technical condition of the educational institution after the collapse was assessed by the city authorities as emergency, and the use of the building was prohibited.
