Yakutsk was shrouded in smoke from forest fires in the Khabarovsk Territory, the Amur Region and the Ust-Maisky District. In the air, the excess of the maximum permissible concentration of chemicals is recorded. Andrey Konoplev, Deputy Minister of Ecology and Forestry of Yakutia, spoke about this.
“Smoke in the city is associated with a change in wind direction. Currently, the air mass has collected smoke from the Khabarovsk, Amur and Ust-May fires. This air goes in the direction of the wind to Yakutsk and Lensk. This phenomenon may last until the end of the week,” the deputy minister said at a briefing of the operational headquarters (quote from RIA Novosti).
Rospotrebnadzor revealed the excess of the MPC of chemicals in the atmospheric air in three indicators. During the day, five fires were extinguished in Yakutia on a total area of 168.2 hectares. In total, 114 forest fires are burning in the republic on an area of 182,597.7 hectares.
