The journalists of Yakutia were not forbidden to watch the Epiphany bathing of the head of the republic, Aisen Nikolaev. This, refuting the version that appeared in a number of media, said the head of the department of information policy of the government of the region Semyon Trofimov. The official called this news “heresy and nonsense,” writes Gazeta.ruwho interviewed him.

“The fact is that we have -53 degrees outside,” Trofimov explained. – Where dipping is carried out, a tent is stretched, where heat is supplied. This tent is not dimensionless. All reporters, except for TV crews and photographers, have been asked to leave so that filming journalists can do their jobs, the spokesman said.

At the same time, there was no division into men and women, Trofimov emphasized. After filming the dipping process, the reporters were able to return to the tent and ask the head of Yakutia questions of interest.

“I said that we will provide all the photo and video materials, just wait in the locker room until the press approach,” the spokesman explained. – … There really was nowhere for the priests to stand even. Because heat guns work there, you can’t stand near the heat gun, because clothes will catch fire.”

According to the original version, which managed to spread on the Web, representatives of the press service of Aisen Nikolaev asked to leave the bathhouse, explaining that “women should not be present when a man enters the water.”
