In Voronezh, fans will come up with a new name for the central stadium

The name for the reconstructed trade union stadium will be chosen by fans, and a conscientious contractor will be found for the construction – Governor Alexander Gusev spoke about this on the live broadcast.

Residents of the Voronezh region asked the head of the region about the fate of the central trade union stadium on a live broadcast. The fate of the sports arena has been discussed for a long time. Residents are worried that the area will be built up with high-rise buildings, and the stadium will need to be moved. The governor said unequivocally – the updated stadium will be in the old place, it will not be turned into a residential area.

And fans will be involved in choosing the name, since so far the authorities have not found partners to co-finance the construction who could influence the name of the main arena of the Voronezh football team. Fakel’s home stadium will be able to accommodate up to 25 thousand spectators.

In early April, the authorities announced tenders for the design of a sports facility. About 585 million rubles were allocated for these purposes. The head of the region emphasized that this amount is approximately one and a half times lower than originally planned. Under the terms of the contract, the contractor will have to meet two mandatory conditions – to make it convenient for fans, especially with children, to provide food and sanitary areas, and to provide the arena with high-tech equipment.
