In the capital of Primorye, strong winds forced traffic restrictions on the road bridge connecting the mainland of the city with Russky Island. The restriction applies to heavy vehicles, passenger buses, motorcycles, trailers and semi-trailers. For other vehicles, speed is limited to 40 km/h, it says. message regional government.

In the administration of Vladivostok clarifiedthat passenger buses, both on the mainland and on the island, will still reach the bridge and turn back. And three buses will be used on the island “as heating points at the stops: FEFU, Oceanarium, Mini-CHP.”

In the press service of the Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU), added, that “if the wind increases to 22-24 m/s and traffic on the Russian Bridge is completely blocked, students and employees remaining on the island after 18.00 (11.00 Moscow time) will be accommodated in the university hotel complexes on the FEFU campus.” For some of the FEFU staff and students who live on campus and may be cut off on the mainland, the university administration promises to provide places in city dormitories.

According to forecast Primhydromet, “due to the displacement of the active cyclone near the eastern coast of the Primorsky Territory,” it is expected that on January 22-23, wind gusts on the coast will reach 23-30 m/s.
