A Ukrainian court decided to send to a colony for 7 years a resident of Odessa who pretended to be a local employee of the military registration and enlistment office for a story on the Russian TV channel REN-TV.

The office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine reported that an Odessa resident, under the guise of a military commissar, reported false information to the Russian TV channel about the mobilization in Ukraine. In particular, the man stated that he was forced to hunt men of military age in order to avoid going to the front himself.

It is also reported that the man received the content of the questions and answers voiced in the interview from REN-TV.

Given his cooperation with the investigation, the Odessa resident was sentenced to seven years in prison.
