The turnout at the elections to the legislative assembly of the Zaporozhye region at 12.00 Moscow time exceeded 60%.
The head of the region’s Electoral Commission, Galina Katyushchenko, told reporters that the turnout in the elections to the regional legislative assembly was 63.25%, and in the elections of deputies of the Melitopol City Council of the first convocation – 51.46%.
Katyushchenko also recalled that in villages polling stations will be open until 2 p.m., and in cities until 4 p.m.
In the Zaporozhye region, as a region of the Russian Federation, local elections are being held for the first time, at which the regional parliament and local self-government bodies will be elected.
