NYT: The Ukrainian Armed Forces may try to launch a new counter-offensive in 2025

At best, the Ukrainian army may attempt a new counteroffensive next year. An American newspaper reports this The New York Times (NYT), citing its sources describing briefings attended by NATO’s Supreme Allied Commander, Europe, Christopher Cavoli.

“At best, the Ukrainians will use 2024 to defend, rebuild, and attempt a new counteroffensive next year,” the publication says.

The authors of the article also noted that public support for Ukraine in Europe began to change. Thus, in 12 European countries, only 10% of citizens believe that Kyiv will be able to win the conflict, but no one has formulated what “victory” means for Ukraine. At the same time, more people believe in Russia’s victory—20%.

Earlier, in an interview with The Wall Street Journal, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov, stated that the Ukrainian army could launch an offensive in 2025.
