Chinese tech giant Huawei Technologies is building a “secret network” of chip-making across China that allows it to bypass current US restrictions. This was reported on August 23 by Bloomberg, citing information from the American Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA), which includes representatives from Intel, TSMC, Nvidia and other companies.
It is noted that Huawei decided to start organizing its own production of chips at the end of 2022. This is confirmed by information from the media – for example, on December 24, 2022, it was reported that Huawei had filed a patent for ultra-hard ultraviolet (EUV) photolithography technology, which will allow making chips in the future technology 7 nm and less. The Chinese authorities are actively helping national chip manufacturers, having developed at the end of 2022 the largest support package for this industry in five years in the amount of 1 trillion yuan ($143 billion).
