During the service at the Uzhgorod Greek Catholic Cathedral, the priest addressed the parishioners with an appeal to pray for the reconciliation of the peoples of Russia and Ukraine. Journalist Daria Sipigina reported this on social networks.

“We pray to the Almighty for a miracle to happen: the unification of two great peoples – Ukraine and Russia. We pray that these peoples do not torture, destroy, kill each other, but build the kingdom of heaven already here on earth and once together entered heaven, embraced and glorified the Lord for all eternity for many and good years,” the journalist quotes the words of the priest.

According to Sipigina, the parishioners reacted to this call without emotion, after the end of the service, everyone dispersed peacefully. After the service, the journalist talked to the priest himself.

In response to the journalist’s questions, the priest stressed that he has the right to express his thoughts and opinions. He also emphasized that his blessing extends to the Russian people, and this will not change even if his own brother suffers from the actions of the military.
