The governor of the Sverdlovsk region, Evgeny Kuyvashev, has introduced a high alert regime in the region due to fires. This was reported in the department of information policy.
The Ministry of Public Security of the region was instructed to ensure the readiness of subordinate fire departments and emergency rescue teams that can be involved in extinguishing forest fires. The Governor recommended to the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations to ensure the readiness of the units of the federal fire service.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, now the fires are localized in the villages of Sosva, Tayozhny, Visim, Progress and Neustroeva. More than 380 people and 112 pieces of equipment are involved in extinguishing the fire. An operational group headed by Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation Ilya Denisov arrived in the Sverdlovsk Region, which will coordinate the work on extinguishing and providing assistance to the victims.
The most difficult situation is now in Sosva, where the fire is localized on an area of 9 thousand square meters. m. The Minister of Public Security of the region, Alexander Kudryavtsev, at a meeting with residents of the village who lost their homes, said that “there have never been such fires in the region.”
Investigators opened two criminal cases because of the fire in Sosva. Now the TFR is checking for negligence (Article 293 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) officials who could not take the necessary measures to ensure fire safety during a fire hazard period. The second case of causing death by negligence (Article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) was initiated because of the found body of a 62-year-old man.
