According to the results of June-August, Russians purchased 35.2 million packs of sedatives, which is 8% less than the spring figure. In total, over the summer, Russians spent 4.5 billion rubles on sedatives, which is 14% less than in spring. This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the Center for the Development of Advanced Technologies (CRPT).
According to the CRPT, the average cost of a sedative in the summer was 128 rubles, down 7% since the spring. In total, in Russia in June-August 4.5 billion rubles were spent on sedatives. This is 14% less than in spring.
According to the CRPT estimates, residents of the Tambov, Pskov, Tver, Lipetsk regions and the Khabarovsk Territory purchased the most sedatives. Over the summer, Russians bought 35.2 million packs of sedatives. This is 8% less than in the spring, when 38.3 million packs were purchased.
“A decrease in both demand and the average price is a natural phenomenon, since in the spring we observed an unreasonable rush demand for almost all types of medicines. The Russians massively bought drugs and filled them with home first-aid kits. Now we can say that demand has stabilized, ”the press service of the CRPT quotes Yegor Zhavoronkov, head of the Pharma commodity group, as saying.
In the spring, the demand for sedatives rose sharply in Russia. According to DSM Group, in the week from February 28 to March 6, 577.6 thousand packages of antidepressants were sold in Russian pharmacies, which is 3 times more than in the same period in 2021.
