In 2023, the volume of resort fees in 2023 amounted to about 650 million rubles. Compared to 2022, when vacationers at the resorts of the Caucasian Mineral Waters (KMV) transferred 290 million rubles to the budget under this item, the amount collected has more than doubled. The head of the region, Vladimir Vladimirov, announced this on January 16 at the annual press conference for journalists.

He also clarified that all funds collected are used to modernize the infrastructure of the cities of the KMV: “This work is carried out by the relevant ministries of the region.”

Resort fees in the Stavropol region, Krasnodar and Altai territories, as well as in the Republic of Crimea were introduced as an experiment in 2017. A day’s stay at Stavropol resorts cost vacationers 50 rubles. Since 2023, the resort fee, by decision of the regional Duma, has been doubled – to 100 rubles. Stavropol parliamentarians believe that the resort fee is “firmly entrenched in legislation”, having lost the status of an experiment.

In total, over five years in the Stavropol Territory, more than 1.7 billion rubles were collected through resort fees, which were used to improve resort towns and restore resort infrastructure.

According to the head of the region, in 2024 the tourism sector in the Stavropol region will continue to actively develop: only about 9 million tourists are expected to buy vouchers to sanatoriums and holiday homes in the region.
