Electricity supply in the Rostov region, disrupted due to unfavorable weather conditions, has been restored for 164 thousand people, reported the region’s governor Vasily Golubev. Restoration work continues in 17 more municipalities in the region.
“At the moment, the work of 654 transformer substations has been resumed, more than 100 power lines have been restored. Power supply has been restored for 164 thousand people. Work continues in 17 municipalities of the Rostov region. They involve, taking into account shifts, 171 brigades of power engineers consisting of 567 people and 222 pieces of equipment,” Mr. Golubev wrote in Telegram-channel.
The governor of the Rostov region also spoke about the restoration of water supply to residents of four cities - Novoshakhtinsk, Shakhty, Kamensk-Shakhtinsky and Tsimlyansky. Water supply has been partially resumed for the Konstantinovsky district, located in the central part of the region. Some residents of the Dubovsky district still remain without water supply due to the lack of electricity supply at the pumping station.
Due to rain at sub-zero temperatures, the southern part of Central Russia today, February 12, was covered in ice. There are several cities and districts in the Rostov region remained without power due to accidents caused by the accumulation of wet snow on power lines. According to Rostov authorities as of February 11, without power supply remained 250 thousand people.
