Traffic on the M-4 Don highway in the Rostov region was blocked on the section from km 907 to km 983 in the forward and reverse directions from 20:00 on March 30. The restriction had to be introduced due to heavy snowfall, informs the Ministry of Transport of the Rostov Region with reference to the state company Avtodor.
Earlier, the State traffic inspectorate restricted the movement of heavy trucks and sent them to parking lots until the weather conditions improved: at km 801 – vehicles moving in the direction of Rostov-on-Don, at km 993 – vehicles moving towards Moscow.
It is reported that in order to eliminate the consequences of bad weather, heavy equipment from construction sites is transferred to the site.
To help people stuck in a snow jam, seven crews of emergency commissioners were sent from the M-4 Don toll sections, including from the Rostov, Voronezh regions and the Krasnodar Territory. You can contact them at *2323.
The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Rostov Region informs that the most difficult situation on the federal highway is observed at two sections in Kamensky and Krasnosulinsky districts.
“To assist in towing vehicles, heavy equipment was sent from the Don Rescue Center of the Russian Emergencies Ministry and fire and rescue garrisons. Deployed heating points. About 60 people and 40 pieces of equipment are working on the spot, ”the press service of the department reports.
Head of the Krasnosulinsky District informed in his Telegram channel that a heating point was opened on the 960th km of the M-4 Don highway.
“Here people get food and everything they need,” Nikolai Alshenko wrote. “No one is left behind. In each settlement of the district, the heads are now at their workplaces. Where necessary, we organize additional reception points for people in schools, kindergartens and houses of culture.”
