In the Kurgan region, as of 10:00 local time (8:00 Moscow time), 6,267 people were evacuated from the flood zone due to flooding. The press service of the regional government clarified that this number continues to grow and called on residents of six settlements to immediately evacuate.

“Hot meals have been organized for those evacuated from the flood zone. They are provided with basic necessities. Temporary accommodation centers (TACs) are staffed by medical workers and law enforcement officers. Psychologists are working,” the government of the Kurgan region said in a statement. There are currently 818 people in temporary temporary detention centers, including 222 children. A total of 99 points were opened in the region at schools, camps and hospitals.

The regional government also reported that charities have opened a collection of funds and essential items for flood victims. As stated in the press service, they accept food, clothing, bedding and other things.

Governor of the Kurgan region Vadim Shumkov April 10 reportedthat the water level in the Tobol River could rise to 1100 cm. According to forecasts, flooding of residential buildings and household plots is expected on April 11–14. A state of emergency is in effect in the Kurgan, Orenburg, and Tyumen regions.
