Unidentified persons made an attempt on the life of the deputy head of the department of internal policy of the administration of the Kherson region Igor Telegin. Kirill Stremousov, deputy head of the military-civilian administration (MAC) of the Kherson region, told about this informed “RIA News”.
“We just talked to him … He is alive and well. There was a complete assassination attempt on him, but everything is fine. He has no complications, no one killed him, although they tried, ”Stremousov said.
He clarified that an improvised directional explosive device had gone off. The deputy head of the region’s CAA suggested that a “local sabotage group” could be behind the assassination attempt.
The fact that in the Kherson region there are no authorities controlled by Kyiv, spoke in early May, the head of the Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov. Most of the Zaporozhye region is also under the control of the Russian military. New pro-Russian administrations were formed in both regions.
Earlier, the territories announced plans to become part of Russia. At the end of July, Vladimir Rogov, a member of the main council of the administration of Zaporozhye, announced that referendums on joining Russia could be held in Kherson and Zaporozhye on the same day in mid-September.
In early August, the head of the State Administration of the Zaporozhye region, Evgeny Balitsky, signed an order on preparations for a referendum on the region’s accession to the Russian Federation. The authorities of the Kherson region have not yet issued official documents on the preparation of the referendum.
