In the conditions of the fire regime in the Jewish Autonomous Region, additional prohibitions have been introduced. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, in March, 157 fires were recorded in the territory of the JAO, and more than half of the fires were caused by human error.

“The cause of 68% of incidents of the total number of fires was careless handling of fire, in other cases, violations of the rules for the installation and operation of heating stoves, electrical equipment, which is 15% and 11%, respectively,” emphasized the deputy head of the department for supervisory activities and preventive work Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Jewish Autonomous Region Sergey Voloshin.

Careless handling of fire caused 192 fires since the beginning of the year. Eight people became victims of the elements, nine citizens were injured.

The fire situation remains tense in nature. According to statistics, since the beginning of the year there have been 22 forest fires on a total area of ​​28.7 thousand hectares. Windy weather without precipitation, which is predicted for the coming days, may worsen the situation. There were no fires in the same period of 2022.

In this regard, a high alert mode has been operating in the JAO since the end of March. And in the Birobidzhan region, a state of emergency was introduced – five forest fires with a total area of ​​more than 1,000 hectares were registered on its territory. According to the regional government and rescuers, such a measure will involve forest firefighters from neighboring regions in extinguishing the fire if necessary.
