The Supreme Court of the DPR sentenced the Azov militant (recognized as a terrorist organization and banned in the Russian Federation) Andrey Bogdan in the form of 25 years in a strict regime colony for the murder of a captured military man. This was reported by the press service of the prosecutor’s office of the region.
“… He was found guilty under paragraphs “g”, “l” of part 2 of article 105 (murder committed by an organized group motivated by political and ideological hatred), part 1 of article 356 (ill-treatment of prisoners of war in the occupied territory) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation,” the prosecutor’s office said.
The investigation reports that the murder took place in March last year in Mariupol at one of the positions. Bogdan approached a light car stopped for inspection, in which a civilian and two military DNR were sitting, one of them was injured.
They confiscated weapons from the military, and then shot them at a gas station, firing at least 10 times from a Kalashnikov assault rifle.
According to the defendant, he repents of his deed, adding that he did it “on emotions.” The court sentenced him to 25 years in prison in a strict regime colony.
