In the case of theft in a sanatorium, the Ministry of Internal Affairs sentenced a transgender person

According to the verdict of the Odintsovo court, members of the family of Tatyana Skobelkina, the director of the Galant company, which supplied food to departmental sanatoriums of law enforcement agencies, received impressive sentences. As a result, a delicate situation arose, since one of the accused is transgender, and now it is not entirely clear which colony to send him to.

As MK learned, Skobelkina, her husband and son were found guilty of theft related to the supply of food to the sanatoriums of the Ministry of Internal Affairs – “Ruza” and “Podmoskovye”. We are talking, in particular, about fraud with fish and caviar.

According to the documents, it was clear that medical institutions received expensive varieties of fish and red caviar, but in fact the delicacies were replaced with imitation caviar and cheap types of seafood. In addition, there were no veterinary documents for the supplied fish and honey.

And, although the administration of the sanatorium confirmed that it had no complaints against the suppliers, a criminal case was opened against the director of Galant and her relatives on charges of fraud and complicity in the transfer of a bribe. The director of the Podmoskovye sanatorium, Pavel Zinov, was accused of taking a bribe.

Business ombudsman Boris Titov stood up for the accused, and at first this helped: family members were released from the pre-trial detention center under house arrest. They were awaiting trial at different addresses. On Monday, a sentence was handed down – 8.5 years for Skobelkina (the prosecutor asked for 15) and 8 years for her husband and son, Zinov received 8 years and 2 months in prison.

As a result, the FSIN faced a difficult problem. The fact is that Skobelkina’s husband had an operation about 10 years ago for medical reasons – he changed his sex and became a man. After this, he cast his lot in with an entrepreneur. During the investigation, Skobelkina complained to human rights activists that the security forces were using her husband’s unusual status for pressure.

The man was sentenced to serve his sentence in a maximum security colony, where people who have changed their gender are treated as a lower caste. While the convict is in pre-trial detention, his future fate is still unclear.
