In the forests of the Amur Region, the state of emergency (ES) was canceled due to the normalization of the fire situation in the region. The decision was made yesterday, May 16. This was announced today, May 17, press office department of civil protection and fire safety of the Amur region.
Over the past day, three natural fires have been recorded in the Amur Region. One of them was observed three kilometers from the village of Chigiri in the Blagoveshchensk district, it was eliminated. Two more fires are active in Svobodnensky and Magdagachinsky districts, they are localized.
According to preliminary data, arson could have been the cause of the fire in the Svobodnensky district. The fire was localized on an area of 30 hectares on May 16 at 23:00 local time (19:00 Moscow time).
The department warned that in several districts of the region, the fourth class of fire danger remains. All municipalities have a special fire regime that prohibits any work with open fire.
The state of emergency at the regional level was introduced in the Amur Region on May 2. Forest fires in the region began at the end of March. May 11 reportedthat 1.1 thousand hectares of forest are burning in the region.
