A lawsuit filed by the opposition activist Raushan Valiullin, who worked as a history teacher at the local school No. 24, was sent to the city court of Naberezhnye Members. The management of the institution terminated his employment contract with him on September 1, 2022 after Mr. Valiullin refused to sign an additional agreement, according to which, in particular, he was deprived of class management.
Raushan Valiullin considers the actions of the school administration “illegal and unreasonable.” He demands that he be reinstated at work, paying him the average salary for downtime and compensation for non-pecuniary damage in the amount of 100 thousand rubles. The man connects the dismissal with his political activity. In the past, he was the organizer of actions of supporters of Alexei Navalny in Naberezhnye Chelny and headed the branch of the Alliance of Teachers, founded by an opposition politician.
In June 2020, Mr. Valiullin was already fired from the school. Then the reason was the alleged absenteeism of classes by the teacher. However, the Naberezhnye Chelny prosecutor’s office appealed his dismissal, establishing that the educational process during the COVID-19 pandemic took place remotely. teachers restored at work by decision of the city court.
In April 2022, Raushan Valiullin’s apartment was searched in connection with a criminal case on false mining of bank buildings. According to Mr. Valiullin, during the interrogation he was asked about his attitude to the special operation of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine. Activist refused respond with reference to Art. 51 of the Constitution of the Russian Federation.
