In Sudan, more than 13 thousand people were killed in a year as a result of military conflict

More than 13 thousand people were killed and over 30 thousand were injured over the past year during the armed conflict in Sudan, the country’s Minister of Health, Heissam Mohammed Ibrahim, said in a conversation with the press.

“Since the beginning of April, as a result of the fighting in Khartoum and other provinces of Sudan, more than 13 thousand people have been killed and more than 30 thousand injured,” Ibrahim said, calling what was happening a real disaster, surpassing all previous ones in the country’s history.

According to him, in the capital province of Khartoum, more than 70% of medical facilities were damaged as a result of shelling by the Rapid Action Force, which creates serious problems for the provision of medical care to the population.
