In Sochi, resorts will be checked due to the lack of decorations in honor of Victory Day in Krasnaya Polyana

Head of Sochi Alexei Kopaygorodsky promised to take under special control the decoration of the streets of the resort city for public holidays, calling the situation on the territory of the NAO Krasnaya Polyana unacceptable, where tourists complained about the “cancellation of Victory Day”.

Mr. Kopaygorodsky thanked the vacationers, as well as State Duma deputy Alexander Khinshtein, for making the situation public. “State symbols and our support for a special military operation are undeniable and should be expressed in the design of the urban environment and in the general ideology of all events,” the mayor said.

In Sochi, a new regulation has been developed for decorating public spaces and large accommodation facilities for public holidays; compliance with the regulation will be checked by a working group with the participation of leaders of public and military-patriotic associations.

“Even if the organization does not have financial resources planned for registration and there is no way to find them, the city administration will take over the preparation of public spaces and entrance groups. We will provide all necessary assistance to convey the general atmosphere of patriotic events,” said Alexei Kopaygorodsky.

May 10 State Duma deputy Alexander Khinshtein published video recordings and photographs taken by vacationers at the Krasnaya Polyana resort on Victory Day, which indicate the absence of festive decorations on the territory of the resort. The leadership of Krasnaya Polyana claims that there were no bans on the celebration.
