Hurricane winds in Sochi knocked down over 80 trees and damaged the roofs of more than ten private and apartment buildings. Over the past 24 hours, 35 mm of precipitation fell in the center of Sochi, and 45 mm of snow fell in the mountain cluster. “More than 80 trees were knocked down by the squally wind, and the roofs of more than 10 private and apartment buildings were damaged. Local damage to utility networks has been recorded, and repair crews are performing the work. Due to squally winds, four planes were unable to land at Sochi airport. Now they are at alternate airfields. At the airport press service clarifiedthat further flights will be operated taking into account actual weather conditions.
From December 23 to 25 in Sochi valid a storm warning. There is a strong wind in the city, showers with thunderstorms turning into sleet. Forecasters predict that wind speeds could reach 32 m/s.
