Aeroflot resumed regular flights to Hong Kong

The carrier’s press service reported on the first flight to the new direction; the plane arrived at its destination this morning. In March 2020, the program of regular flights from Sheremetyevo to Hong Kong was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“This winter season, flights to Hong Kong will be carried out three times a week – on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays… It is expected that the Moscow-Hong Kong-Moscow air route will be in demand among airline passengers making both business and tourist trips. Aeroflot’s first flight was carried out with a high load,” the press service noted.

Let us recall that in mid-December, during a direct line, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that Aeroflot’s flat tariffs for flights to the Far East would be extended next year. “The region is colossal—“it’s a separate world.” It’s not easy to move at such distances even within the country,” the Russian leader said during a conversation with reporters.

“Flat fare” implies a fixed price for flights to certain destinations, regardless of the date of purchase of the ticket and seasonal demand for air travel. The program is available to all residents of the country, which distinguishes it from subsidized transportation, the airline explained. Previously, the carrier also launched preferential subsidized tickets from Kaliningrad and cities of the Far Eastern Federal District to Moscow and St. Petersburg. They are available to Russians under 23 years of age, men over 60 years of age and women over 55, as well as disabled people and accompanying persons.
