State Duma deputy Yana Lantratova (A Just Russia – For Truth) and Vice Speaker Sergei Neverov (United Russia) proposed amendments to bill about the taxi. The amendments propose to ban self-employed people with an unexpunged and outstanding criminal record from working in a taxi. RIA Novosti got acquainted with the text of the amendments.
The law on the non-admission of these categories of citizens to work in a taxi has already been adopted, however, since the new bill will allow the self-employed to be engaged in cabs, the amendments will extend this rule to them.
“The amendments will extend these norms to the self-employed,” Mr. Neverov said.
In May, the State Duma accepted a law that prohibits drivers with an outstanding or unexpunged criminal record from working in taxis and public transport.
