A bill on an indefinite maternity capital program was introduced to the State Duma
A bill on an open-ended maternity capital program was submitted to the Russian State Duma for consideration. The relevant information was published on the electronic database of the lower house of parliament.
The explanatory note to the document states that maternity capital is currently available to families in which children were born or adopted since January 1, 2007. The program has currently been extended until December 31, 2026.
The bill assumes that after December 31, 2026, the right to maternity capital will not arise.
“It seems necessary <…> make the maternity (family) capital program indefinite,” the document says.
Let us recall that on February 29, Russian President Vladimir Putin during Address to the Federal Assembly announced the launch of a new national project “Family”.
