In Russia, the incidence of SARS and influenza increased by 18.5% over the week

Over the past week, in 43 Russian regions, the incidence of SARS and influenza has exceeded the national average. At the same time, throughout Russia, the number of cases of acute respiratory viral infections and influenza increased by 18.5% over the week. Among the viruses detected in the last week, the swine flu strain (A (H1N1) -2009) prevails: it was found in 55 subjects. This was reported in Rospotrebnadzor.

The chief sanitary doctor of Russia, Anna Popova, demanded that the regions lagging behind in terms of vaccination rates complete their work by December 5. The Department of Rospotrebnadzor was instructed to take special control over children’s camps, primarily Artek and Orlyonok.

In the Russian regions, the number of cases of acute respiratory viral infections and influenza among children is growing. So, in the schools of Elista, due to the increase in the incidence since November 29 introduced quarantine. In Moscow, the number of children hospitalized with these diseases is 2–2.5 times higher than the average figures for 2016–2019. In Yekaterinburg, for the week from November 14 to November 20, 15.8 thousand cases of acute respiratory viral infections were detected – 12.9% higher than the long-term average.
