This is reported by the human rights project “Network Freedoms” with reference to the lawyer Ilnur Sharapov. “He was sentenced to 8 years in prison, with the deprivation of the right to administer social networks and hold positions in law enforcement agencies for a period of 4 years, with the deprivation of the special rank of police major,” the statement reads. Telegram “Network Freedoms”.
Oleg Kashintsev resigned from the internal affairs bodies in 2019 amid protests in Moscow. In July 2022, he was put on the international wanted list under a criminal article, but Interpol refused to extradite the ex-major to the Russian authorities, since the organization considers the article about fakes to be politically motivated. The criminal case against Oleg Kashintsev is connected with his publications in social networks regarding the events in Ukraine.
