The statistics compiled by the National Association of Event Organizers are relentless: companies have cut their budgets by more than 20%. And, as a result, the demand for New Year’s festivities organized by industry professionals will not be in demand. The data was obtained on the basis of a survey of participants in the entertainment market. “MK” conducted its own mini-research, talking with the hosts of the holidays and people from show business.

The organizer and showman Vasily Dobry made a detailed analysis of the situation. In fact, most of the companies that have seriously cut holiday budgets or canceled them altogether are departmental organizations.

“Over the past month, I have canceled: Tax Day, Police Day and the 50th anniversary of the surgical department of the regional hospital,” says Vasily. – But good artists are still taken, even if the budget of the event is reduced. We, the artists, have only to agree to a slight price drop or refuse the order. Let’s just say – the customer began to approach the choice of the artist more carefully. If earlier it was taken at the discretion of the organizer, now we have to discuss each one meticulously and find a consensus on the price.”

Most of all, representatives of show business are pleased with the fact that small private organizations do not cancel anything and are going to celebrate and spend money as usual. “As the practice of this year shows, it is easier for small companies to come to some institution and join the same small organizations that will have fun with them. It turns out to be a kind of a feast of clubbing, ”said the showman.

Events have decreased, budgets have been cut, said singer, TV presenter and entertainer Ilya Vasiliev. “Everyone is waiting for the official cancellation of the celebrations, and someone, for internal moral reasons, does not want to hold anything. The industry is already in complete… stagnation for the third year. Thinking of other jobs. I’m glad if one of my colleagues still manages to earn money, ”complains the entertainer.

Musician, composer and arranger Roman Ryabtsev also believes that show business is still getting out of the crisis created by the pandemic: “And company executives just want to take advantage of the far-fetched reason that now is“ not the time to celebrate. In fact, they simply save budgets. There are no other reasons. In times of all crises, holidays were cut first of all, for reasons of economy.

The trend of canceling corporate events began in the regions: in October, a third of the constituent entities decided to save money on winter holidays “because of the SVO and mobilization.” It is proposed to abandon concerts, fireworks and festivities. The Kremlin left this decision at the mercy of the regions – the decision remains with the governors. But although the government advised the heads of regions to pay attention to public opinion, the decision is obvious. And it will be something like the head of Bashkiria, Radiy Khabirov, told the residents: “No artists. If you want to take the harmonica yourself, sing. It was this trend that private business took advantage of, starting to cancel New Year’s corporate parties.

However, in the regions they do not consider, for example, the situation of abandoning the expensive decoration of the city as an economy. Roman Ryabtsev is also sure that in no case should the New Year holidays be cancelled. “You can save money by decorating Moscow, for example, not so magnificently. Thank God, there should be more than enough left in warehouses from previous holidays. I think it will be enough even to share decor elements with the regions. And they will remain behind their own eyes.

But there is another reason – the cancellation of holidays for moral and ethical reasons. Composer Roman Ryabtsev advises to remember the times of the Great Patriotic War.

“Those who believe that “it’s not the time to celebrate when our guys are fighting there,” apparently forgot that during the Great Patriotic War, Christmas trees were held in the Kremlin, when the enemy was literally at its walls. And front-line brigades with concerts to raise morale, ”the musician summed up.

If we turn to statistics, then only in the first half of the outgoing year, the inhabitants of Russia purchased more than six million packages of antidepressants, almost twice as much as a year earlier. The figures are taken from the analysis of the Center for the Development of Advanced Technologies. Psychologist and Gestalt therapist Marina Slavina believes that reality does not always depend on us, but there is a way out. “For example, the head of the region decided that the money would go to the front instead of the Christmas tree, because there are problems. The deputies supported him, the order was published. You weren’t asked. But after all, no one forbids you to gather your own, or go on a visit, or just spend a romantic New Year in the country by the fireplace or just a warm stove. No one will interfere with getting together with a company and leaving for skiing or tubing, ”the psychologist emphasizes. In her opinion, it is necessary to find a foothold in order to reduce anxiety, and not to celebrate “out of spite” or “out of principle”, because such an approach will not save. “If you want and can gather people close to you at the festive table, do it. If you want your child to receive gifts from Santa Claus and the Snow Maiden, arrange it. If you had a dream to celebrate the New Year in the United Arab Emirates or in Karelia, and you are ready to do it today, do not postpone it for later, fly! Realized dreams will make you more confident, because you can dream further and you can make your dreams come true again and again. Confidence in oneself and the environment is the best support in the situation of uncertainty in which we all live,” Slavina is sure.
