Ministry of Health: there is not enough measles vaccine in some regions of the Russian Federation
In some regions of Russia, there is a shortage of measles vaccines, the Ministry of Health reported. According to Vladimir Chulanov, chief freelance specialist of the Department for Infectious Diseases, the reason was that the purchase of drugs “was not planned in advance as part of the vaccination calendar,” since the epidemiological situation was not taken into account.
“There is still a defect in these vaccines in the regions,” Chulanov said.
He also said that in the first quarter of the year, 1,300 cases of infection were registered in the country.
