In Russia, for the first time since mid-March, almost 44 thousand cases of coronavirus were detected

The number of detected cases of COVID-19 over the past day increased by 9.17% – from 40,231 to 43,919, follows from the data headquarters. This figure was a record for the first time since March 13, when 44,989 cases were registered. In Moscow, the number of infected people decreased by 540 people to 8874, in the Moscow region it increased by 844 people to 2958.

During the day in Russia, 71 people died from COVID-19, 3936 people were hospitalized.

Leading regions in terms of the number of detected cases of infection as of August 25:

• Moscow – 8874;
• St. Petersburg – 4423;
• Moscow region – 2958;
• Krasnodar Territory – 1288;
• Rostov region – 1138:
• Perm Territory – 1058.

Since the beginning of the pandemic in Russia, 19,265,521 cases of infection have been recorded.

Against the backdrop of an increase in the incidence of COVID-19, Rospotrebnadzor recommended the return of wearing masks to regions where infections exceed 50 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. The mask mode was returned to Tatarstan, Dagestan, Gorny Altai, the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the Vologda and Novosibirsk regions. Today, August 25, Rospotrebnadzor proposed introducing a regime in the Kursk and Sverdlovsk regions. Some Russian universities are discussing a return to restrictive measures. Among large retail chains, Magnit introduced the wearing of masks for employees.
