During the Finval-2023 exercise, for the first time in the history of post-Soviet Russia, simultaneous missile firing was carried out from the sea, from the shore, from the air and from under water, the information support department of the Russian Pacific Fleet reported.
Exercises to protect communications of the Northern Sea Route were held on the Chukotka Peninsula, in the waters of the Chukchi and Bering seas. They were held under the leadership of the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy, Admiral Nikolai Evmenov. On September 25, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced the completion of the exercises.
The exercises, as reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense, were of a defensive nature. About 10 thousand military personnel and more than 50 pieces of equipment were involved in them.
