A criminal case was opened in Bashkiria regarding violations in the collection of debts from citizens

The head of the FSSP, Dmitry Aristov, said that the first case in the country has been opened in Bashkiria under a new article of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation on gross violations when communicating with citizens when collecting debts. According to him, the case has been under investigation since January of this year.

“That is, the practice of criminal prosecution is beginning to take shape,” noted the head of the department.

Aristov did not provide details of the criminal case, but called the regulation of the work of collectors a “quite significant” result of the work. He added that “the sanctions there are quite significant – up to 10 years in prison” in the event of collectors using violence that is dangerous to life and health. Aristov noted that police “do not need to look for an article in the Criminal Code” to describe the actions of debt collectors.
