Over the past day in the Primorsky Territory, the number of flooded residential buildings and adjacent territories has sharply increased.
“On the territory of 19 municipalities of the region, 516 residential buildings, 1673 adjoining territories were flooded,”— reported Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation for Primorye.
A day earlier, the same indicator was: 73 residential buildings, 408 adjacent territories in 17 settlements.
Thus, during the day, the number of flooded residential buildings increased seven times, the adjacent territories – four times.
Since the beginning of the flood period, rescuers in Primorye have evacuated about 7,000 people in total, including 982 children. 1294 houses were dried, water was pumped out of the basements of 982 residential buildings. Currently, 183 people, including 45 children, are in 8 temporary accommodation centers.
Since the beginning of August, floods have been recorded in Primorye due to heavy rains. On August 15, a state of emergency on a regional scale was introduced in the region. On August 25, the state of emergency was raised to the federal level. The damage from floods in the region is tentatively estimated at 7 billion rubles. More than 5 thousand households were flooded. Six people died.
