Rescuers evacuated the staff and patients of the Evgenievskaya Regional Rehabilitation Hospital in the village of Shcherbakovka in the Primorsky Territory due to flooding. This was reported press office management of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the region.
A total of 17 people were evacuated, including six children. They were delivered to the city of Artyom by a helicopter of the Ministry of Emergency Situations MI-8. On the same flight, rescuers delivered about two tons of food, water and medicines to the settlements of Shcherbakovka and Mikhailovka cut off due to the flood.
Since the beginning of August, flooding has been recorded in Primorye due to heavy rains. In mid-August, a state of emergency on a regional scale was introduced in the region. This week it was upgraded to the federal level. Damage to the region from flooding and precipitation is estimated at 7 billion rubles.
