In the Primorsky Territory, the Amur tiger was released into the wild, which worried the inhabitants of local villages.
The tiger was caught near the village of Znamenka in the Pozharsky district: the predator roamed the countryside in search of food. Then the tiger tore three local dogs. In total, since 2021, the predator has killed 34 dogs.
Employees of the rehabilitation center examined the tiger and stated that the animal is completely healthy. As a result, the volunteers released the predator in the Krasnoarmeisky district.
According to Alexei Surovoy, Deputy Minister of Forestry and Hunting of the Primorsky Territory, Krasnoarmeisky District is a sparsely populated area with a high density of ungulates, where, among other things, there are no other male tigers.
