In Nizhnevertovsk, a five-story building will be demolished, where ten people died in a gas explosion

According to the expertise of the emergency services, the five-story building where the gas exploded on December 4 is to be demolished. This was announced by the mayor of the city Dmitry Koshchenko. During the explosion, two entrances partially collapsed, apartments in other entrances were recognized as dangerous for living.

“According to the preliminary certificate of the state of the structural elements of the house on the street. Mira, 6a, issued by specialists of the All-Russian Research Institute of Civil Defense and Emergencies, the building is subject to demolition. The experts will issue a final conclusion by the end of December,” wrote the mayor of Nizhnevartovsk in Telegram.

The gas exploded in a five-story building in Nizhnevartovsk early in the morning. A total of ten people were killed in the explosion. (Several of them were pulled out from under the rubble, they died already in the hospital.) 15 people were injured. The families of the victims will be paid 1 million rubles each.

According to the preliminary version, the depressurization of the gas cylinder became the cause of the explosion. The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case on causing death by negligence (part 3 of article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
